On Wednesday January 7th the lodge held an open installation to install the newly elected and appointed officers for 2009. Please see the officers page for a list of the officers. We look forward to their leadership and fellowship.
Gainesville Lodge is assisting the Alachua County Public Schools Winter Break Food drive for 2008. Brother Michael Bicklehaupt is heading up this effort for Gainesville Masonic Lodge. Please contact him if you would like to help. His email address is mbickelhaupt at gmail.com
Providing the food listed below will help families make it through winter break while providing them with some food for the holidays. If you would like to help some of our students, please purchase a clothes basket and fill it with the following items.(We would like all baskets to offer the same minimum food selection so all families can have a less stressful and happier winter break).
_2 large cans of Sweet Potatoes
_Cranberry Sauce
_Stuffing Mix
_Jar of Gravy
_4 cans friut
_4 cans vegetables
_Cake Mix/Frosting Can
_Grits, Oatmeal, or Pancake Mix
_1 large can Chief Boyardee Ravioli, Speaghetti-O’s, etc.
_instant Milk or boxed milk
_Bag of Rice
_3 boxes Mac& Cheese
_Boxed Meal w/meat in Hamburger Helper Section
_Spaghetti Noodles and a Jar of Sauce
_Peanut Butter and Jelly
_3 cans of soup
_Canned Ham (Non-refrigerated in the meat department) or a $10 gift card
*If you feel the need to place additional items in your basket, some suggested items are: Breakfast cereal; snack pack puddin; additional Chef Boyardee canned meals(ravioli, etc.); individual fruit cups; raisins; fruit snacks. You could also include a gift card to cover fresh milk or produce. These items are not required, but all items must fit in the one baskets, please.
We are able to take cash donations of any amount(whole baskets costs $51). Checks may be made payable to alachua County Public Schools Foundation
There will be District 14 Child ID effort on November 8 & 9 in Gainesville during the Downtown Fall Arts Festival. Dennis Haskins of Schaefer Lodge #350 is the coordnator of the event. Any questions please ask W. Kurt and let him know if you will be available on either day to asist. Bring your family for a fun day helping out community and spreading the Charitable Joy of Masonry.
